Why this business exists
Steady Wake Dispatch exists because of my mom, Alfreda Susie Hudson. When I had nothing left, the support she left me kept a roof over my head and gave me the chance to build this business. Every load I book is part of the life she made possible.
My name is Shane Hudson. I grew up on a loading dock, started delivering at 14, spent two years in the Navy blocking and bracing loads on flatbed trucks, and worked the routes and the warehouse for a beverage distributor until I was 44. Along the way I earned a Master's in Project Management. Now I dispatch for owner-operators, and I run your truck the way I'd want mine run.
In her name
Your first load is on me. Every new client gets their first load with no dispatch fee and no strings attached, the way my mom gave me a chance when I had nothing. After that it's just 7%, paid after you're paid. I keep a limited number of spots each month so every truck gets my full attention.
Why "Steady Wake"? It's named for the steady support that carried me through rough water.
For shippers and carriers
I spent 11 years inside high-volume beverage distribution: running delivery routes, building loads, managing shipping and receiving, and keeping temperature-sensitive product moving on tight schedules. I know how shippers think, how warehouses run, and what large carriers need to keep freight moving. Whether you're one truck or a fleet, a local shipper or a large operation, I understand your side of the dock.
I also hold a Master's in Project Management, and dispatch is project management on wheels: planning routes, scheduling pickups and deliveries around hours of service, managing risk, keeping everyone informed, and making sure every load pays.
Flatbed is my specialty
In the Navy I spent two years blocking and bracing loads on civilian flatbed trucks at a Naval Weapons Station. When the cargo can't shift, you learn to do it right every time. I bring that to every flatbed load I book for you.

Steady Wake Dispatch works for carriers. I'm a dispatcher, not a freight broker, so you sign every rate confirmation and get paid directly by the broker.
